TRUST IN BUSINESS
For example, with handshakes, it used to be deemed as building trust between two businessman in an agreed trade deal, "....By gripping his crown jewels, a man was literally swearing on his manhood" The word "testify" actually derives from the Latin root for his crown jewels...." (1)I wonder what women did in those early days to swear on their word of honours, or did they not partake of this ritual but used other methods, oh for example, such as a miniuscule marble bust statue in exchange for a bronze one instead? Perhaps that's why Romans and other warriors kept thumping themselves on the chest in allegiance!? Very painful if you have to keep doing that if your a female employee! However, if someone basically lacks ethics and etiquette for building trust and turning them into a business relationship it would leave doubts regarding the principles that person holds for themselves as well as for their company they work for. But also the corporation being tarnished with the same mud or in quick-sand because of a lack of trust. So its better to have a reputation which is based on solid foundations than none at all. Now, how would you build trust by keeping you word on the internet? REFERENCE SOURCES: (1) Working Woman, Pump it Up article, November 1999, page 28-29.
