GENERATING IDEAS

That's was the right idea all along!Just because someone else has come up with the same idea (or one similar) as yours. There is a factor which isn't taken into account - you go and do it better. Any idea can be improved upon, its a creative process.

No person I can think of...so far anyway, in regards to an idea was solely responsible for the entire "big picture". It was built over a long time, passed from one person to another with improvements and adjustments made along the way, the product sometimes becomes a variant. There are many options. You select the idea or criteria that works for you and adapt it as a solution as you progress.

Therefore your ideas might be the beginning for someone else to improve upon later. You can take your time, no rush, the ideas will ferment in your mind whilst you make notes until you are ready......like wine, it gets better with age but its knowing when to drink it.

An article in the newspaper (1) about having inspiring ideas for business it can be in the most unexpected places.

It states they had done their research from a group of companies in the UK and they found that to be most creative was one in eight having their best ideas in the bath compared with one in ten at their desk. One in five had their insights while in bed, whilst traveling by train and plane, playing sport which are conducive to original thought.

But to translate insight into a sound business proposition, it still takes desk time to turn it into an idea for a company's advantage. Therefore, it would be recommended to have a notepad and pen with you at all times, even if it ends up soggy in the bathroom due to the steam!!

When reading a book, article or listening to others commentary; the "ideas" themselves aren't genderised.  Ideas are examples but not given facts. Therefore, you should be questioning and learning from the ideas at all times; then you'd feel you have something worth pursuing if you want to.

You are aware of the term "BRAIN FLASH". To engineers it would be an electrical surge, to accountants/ economists those pounds, dollars signs before your eyes, to the lawyers that one finger in the air followed by "aha" and to the businessman that beam from your face when the light bulb went on.

All can I say, pens and keyboards at the ready.
