MENTORSHIP FROM OTHERS
CAREER ADVICE "You are a people person, a networker and an improver either with relevant skills and keen to obtain more, however, you need not improve many of the areas but you must choose carefully, you have a warm and positive approach which would be an asset to any organisation."
LAW My law tutor and I had a good rapour in which he stated ".....in each scenerio you have carefully explained the law and applied it [and] would have liked to have seen more of your work...."
ART My art teacher actually said in my report "....Mavarine has natural ability in this subject...." and was abit put out that I never went further into the area. It was funny at the exam, because I forgot to do my homework and thereby had to improvise on the day of the exam. The first wasn't a problem because it was a "still life" drawing of the usual fruit bowl. The second I had to think fast as this was supposed to be from home study. So I quickly looked through a magazine, and saw a picture of a boy falling off a skateboard backwards, as it caught my eye, I did my "own version" in watercolour. Shows when push comes to shove how to think on ones feet!!
MATHS When in maths class, I never paid much attention. However my maths teacher (ex-army) and I got on famously with intense discussions on how maths was taught. He tried every move to get me interested (the cunning fella). When it came to the exam, the rule was that if you didn't show up for the exam you would end up in detention. I stuck by my principles. Yep, I showed up alright. But the exam paper lay before me unmoved. My maths teacher looked at me throughout the two hours with a smirk on his face and periodically shaking his head. We understood and respected each other views. My maths teacher got his own back when I left school. I made the mistake of telling my employer about my teacher and maths; I had no idea that they were both Army men. I ended up without any formal training overseeing the whole debt collection service for the organisation....so much for me trying to outwit a military man.
ENGLISH "....Writes with fine energy. They make interesting reading especially her creative stories, plays and poems, interpreting novels, whatever Mavarine does she shouldn't give up writing even if she becomes a bank clerk..." SOCIAL SCIENCE My social studies teacher actually said when I was leaving "capable of asking relevant questions about all sections of the subject. Her written work and contributions are always stimulating and mature (and the class form will never be the same again without you)."
